Rockstar Games have begun updating their digital store assets with the GTA 6 cover art.
Following the big cover art reveal and pre-order info drop on Thursday, some fans have been speculating what will change and when. No time has been provided by Rockstar as for when the game can be pre-ordered from the digital and physical retailers. There is an expectation it’ll be in the afternoon for Europe/morning for North America.
Preparations are well under way for pre-orders to open on June 25th. Whilst the game has been available to be wish listed on both the XBOX and PlayStation digital stores for about a year now, nothing has changed on them. Until now.
As spotted by GTA community member @RedDeadOutlaw99, the thumbnail image when it appears in search results has changed. Fans can now see the GTA VI cover art rather than the “Jason and Lucia 02” illustration artwork. You can view the cover art that now appears on XBOX below. It feels great to finally see the game’s cover art on console. Some people can’t even believe their eyes and have called it fake. You can check for yourself on your own Xbox console to see it.

This is only visible to users on the console and website. The app has yet to be updated and on top of that there is that installed pre-order file last year still have the old artwork too.
Speaking of the XBOX website, the homepage now displays a Grand Theft Auto VI banner with the previous Jason and Lucia artwork. It also states “Pre-order for XBOX Series X|S starts 25 June 2025”. The game can still be wishlisted ahead of pre-orders opening next Thursday. Nothing has changed on the PlayStation store at the time of writing.
