GTA V and GTA Online are leaving PlayStation Plus this month. PlayStation announced on Wednesday the list of games that will be exiting to their subscription service. This along with 21 other games. Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online have come and gone from PS+ a few times. Most recently these titles joined PS+ in November 2024.
If you are a subscriber of either the PlayStation Plus Extra or Premium tier, you have until on May 20th (via @Knoebelbroet) to keep playing GTA V/GTA Online without owning a copy. That’s just under a month. PlayStation Plus Essential Members do not get access.
Typically, Rockstar Games titles such as GTA V last 6 months in subscription services such as PS+. This announcement won’t come as a surprise due to the past several time frames Rockstar’s games have had in the various services.

The game that has now sold over 210 million copies is leaving after the Oscar Guzman Flies Again content dropped back in March. GTA V has also been a top downloaded game on PlayStation over the past few months and even years; partly down to it being free with select PlayStation Plus tiers. It will be interesting to see how it fairs over the next couple of months once it has left PlayStation Plus.
Despite it leaving PlayStation Plus, the game was just re-added to Xbox Game Pass last week. It also came to PC Game Pass for the first time. This includes both the GTA V Legacy and Enhanced versions on PC. The Xbox versions are also available in the cloud. You can learn more about that deal here.
