The first GTA 6 trailer has continued to reach new milestone and now the game can be selected as the game included in videos in settings available to uploaders.
Last week, the trailer surpassed 250 million views 16 months after it was released. Whilst it has been a slow crawl to each million these past few months, a quarter of a billion is still an impressive feat for a video game trailer. On top of that views number, over 1 million comments have been left on the video as spotted by a Reddit user. This is yet another high number for a YouTube video.
YouTube Celebrates
YouTube also celebrated a huge milestone last week too and a couple of fun GTA 6 trailer bits were part of the celebrations. The platform turned 20 years old and a video taking a look back was released. The video shows many iconic YouTube videos and creators in in 60 seconds. At the 52 second mark, we see the shot from the GTA VI trailer of Lucia in the car. Given the records the trailer broke at release, it is no surprise it has been featured here.
Furthermore, a blog post sharing fun facts and taking a look forward was published. The article mentioned a few select videos will get a “birthday-themed scrubber and animation when when you like a video”. Only a handful of videos received this fun change such as Baby Shark, Shape of You, Despacito and of course GTA VI Trailer 1. Fans going back to rewatch the trailer for the umpteenth time were greeted with the birthday cake scrubber icon.

GTA VI Category Made
But that is not all. It has only take well over a year, but YouTube videos can now choose GTA 6 as the game category as spotted by a Reddit user. Complete with the key art and 2025 release year, going forward any video about GTA 6 can be tagged and put into that category.
The category appears below videos selected with it and click on it will take you to the GTA 6 category page. It features livestreams tagged with GTA 6, recommended videos for you, Shorts, recent videos, other games from Rockstar and popular videos. It also features tabs for official videos, let’s play lists, an about section, Shorts and streams.

YouTube pulls this information from their own video discovery system and or a third party database. It does not mean anything regarding the release year. They do not know anything we don’t. The database has errors occasionally. For example, earlier this month Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) had the title and artwork changed to God of War 2.
