An updated file size for GTA 6 on XBOX shows that the game will be bigger on Microsoft’s console than the PS5. Also, a difference in file size across different regions suggest censorship is coming into play. We’re less than 2 weeks away from release and the last several details we’d expect to get pre-launch are really coming thick and fast.
Last week, PlayStationSize said GTA VI is currently 210GB in the PlayStation Store backend. This was later updated by Rockstar Games with a 212GB blanket size. According to PlayStationSize, there are 3 different versions: a worldwide, Japan and New Zealand/Australia build on Sony’s platform. This potentially indicated censorship for those in Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

Now things are looking a little different for XBOX. According to @Cokymoky69, there are 3 XBOX builds much like PS5. The global version (US, EU, Middle East, Asia) clocks in at 209.86 GiB which works out to 225.34 GB. This is a bigger size than PlayStation possibly due to PS5’s improved compression algorithm.

Interestingly, the Australia and New Zealand version is only 844 KiB less in terms of metadata compared to the worldwide version. Meanwhile the Japanese build is missing 1.2GB of data compared to the global variant.
This would suggest very little if any censorship made to the Australia and New Zealand version but some cuts have been made to the Japanese build much like GTAV/GTA Online. These size changes could also be down to different languages/text/voice over etc.
