Fortnite’s incredible content creation toolset has only been out a few days and fans have already achieved some fantastic feats thanks to its power and their creativity. GTA is such a popular series it was only a matter of time before fans took to the tools to cook something up from GTA.
First steps
Twitter user @videotech_ has shared their work on building Michael De Santa’s mansion in Fortnite. Located in Rockford Hills, Los Santos, this home is an iconic location from GTA V. Now before videotech shared their work on the mansion in Foretnite, they released some short clips of Franklin imported into the game. Plus, the Maze Bank Tower was also brought into Fortnite to test its capabilities in just a few hours.
Michael’s Mansion
According to @videotech_, it took him 8 hours of hard work to port over Michael De Santa’s mansion from GTA V to Fortnite. It looks pretty good in Unreal Engine 5 and takes advantage of its new technologies, Nanite and Lumen.
From the photos shared by the creator we can see the mansion complete with the drive, gate, garden, tennis court and swimming pool. It looks so good you want to play it but there is some bad news. Epic Games have a policy to stop copyrighted content from being made and shared publicly for play.
Epic’s Fortnite Island Creator Rules and intellectual property and DMCA guidelines state some parties can take action by issuing content takedowns for creating “violating content” in UEFN. We have seen how trigger-happy Take-Two have been when it comes to fan works. Harmless mods that even make older GTA games playable have been removed in the past. Videotech explains he will not be publishing this map for anyone to play for obvious reasons. As more fans create new Fortnite maps from Rockstar Games titles we hope Take-Two don’t strong arm and stunt creativity.

Grove Street in Fortnite
We reported recently on a Fortnite creative team that got early access to Unreal Editor for Fortnite (UEFN) aka Fortnite Creative 2.0. In just 3 weeks they remade the iconic Grove Street from GTA San Andreas with a modern day level of graphics fidelity. This new piece of software allows anyone to create with the power of Unreal Engine 5 and put it in Fortnite. One of the new, game changing features allows you to import 3D models into the game.
