The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition got its biggest and most important update yet last week. 3 years after the remastered collection released in an embarrassing state, many of the issues have been fixed which we reported on here. However, there are still a few outstanding issues and as always with new game patches, more bugs.
Many fans had wondered if Rockstar Games would leave it as it is but thankfully it seems like they have not given up. As spotted by Twitter user @videotechuk_, Rockstar posted an article on their Rockstar Support site discussing a bug.
Some players have reported that the safe door does not blow up during the Breaking the Bank at Caligula’s mission in GTA San Andreas. Rockstar say ” We are aware of this issue and are currently investigating a solution.” This suggests a new patch could be on its way. Plus, movement in the backend of Steam also shows new builds are being tested.
Workaround
For anyone who has the issue with the safe door, Rockstar have given a workaround:
Note: Skip to step three if you are already out of the mission.
- Fail the mission
- You can speed this up by either killing CJ with the remote explosives provided during the mission or killing Woozie
- Select Cancel when prompted to Retry from Last Checkpoint from the ‘Mission Failed!’ screen
- Travel to the nearest Player Safe House
- Create a manual save
- Restart Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition
- Reload the previously created manual save
- Restart Breaking the Bank at Caligula’s from the Mission blip on the map
If you encounter any other bugs, you can report them to Rockstar via their support site here.
