GTA San Andreas with RTX On stuns in new videos released showing off the game with Path Tracing enabled. Thanks to Nvidia’s RTX Remix tool, modders can enhance the graphics of classic games running on DirectX 8 and 9 with Path Tracing. Path Tracing is something yet to really be used by modern games however older games have seen it implemented in them thanks to Nvidia’s RTX Remix and modders.
Despite releasing almost two decades ago, this iconic game continues to receive new mods. Modder Jessica Natalia has released the first version of Path Tracing for GTA SA and will continue to update it over time.
Gameplay shown off
YouTube channel Immersive Street has published several videos showcasing the game with the mod. Below are some examples of how the mod currently changes the game. As you can see it is quite significant.
The lighting shown in this clip of CJ inside a convenience store is impressive considering this game was built for the PS2 and shows how powerful RTX Remix can be.
This is also paired with the RoSA Project Evolved mod which remasters the textures of the game to be up to a more modern standard. Some would argue how this game looks with these mods is how the official GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition should have looked.
Vice City, too!
GTA Vice City got the same RTX Remix treatment as well. Here we can see how it looks in a new way from Immersive Street‘s video.
You can check out the RTX Remix mod for Grand Theft Auto San Andreas for yourself here. It comes with a guide on how to install it as well.
Fancy something different? GTA San Andreas’ CJ has been modded into several new games recently. From Spider-Man to Hogwarts Legacy and Resident Evil 4’s Remake, he just keeps showing up in unexpected places. It feels like GTA SA and CJ are certainly some of the most modded pieces of gaming ever.
