GTA 6 is looking more and more likely it will release on November 19th without an additional delay. This is based on comments coming from the top boss overseeing the entirety of the project and Rockstar Games. He also called it an monumental moment in history.
Late on Tuesday, Take-Two Interactive‘s CEO Strauss Zelnick took on a questions regarding GTA VI and beyond. An interview was conducted by Variety’s Jenny Maas at a new gaming event called “iicon” located in Las Vegas. This is the first iteration of the planned yearly event. iicon is focused on the business and interactivity of video games has been set up by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) who previously created and ran E3.
As reported by IGN, Zelnick told a crowd of people that he thinks there will be “a lot of people will be calling in sick on November 19th.” This is a strong indicator Grand Theft Auto VI will not suffer another delay next month ahead of Take-Two’s quarterly and end-of-year financial reports. We’re less than four weeks away from when we could see a big announcement from Rockstar based on past business patterns.
If Strauss knew a delay was coming or likely, it would be unlikely for him to use the words as he has done. Before last year’s delay, he did change his language to avoid mentioning the original Fall 2025 time frame.
GTA VI Is Doing Something Nothing Has Done Before

The CEO went onto talk up GTA VI in a big way. He believes Rockstar are “making the most spectacular piece of entertainment on Earth, in history”. The task at hand is not lost on Zelnick; he calls it a “pretty daunting challenge”.
“We do that (make the most spectacular piece of entertainment in history), and if we’re of service to our customers, then the upside will take care of itself.”
There’s also some other GTA 6 and Take-Two news from the same talk given out by Zelnick. He doubled down on the “astonishing” marketing cycle beginning “soon” and addressed pricing concerns after much talk on a $100 cost for the game. Additionally, the CEO even hinted at a future for another one of Rockstar’s franchises.
