GTA V benefits from faster loading on Xbox Series X

As we patiently contuine to wait for Rockstar Games to announce new details for the anticipated port of Grand Theft Auto V for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S & PS5. Some details emerged of the game from the Xbox One version running on backwards compatibility on Microsoft’s Xbox Series X slated to launch this holiday.

It’s finally confirmed the current-generation versions of GTA 5 from Xbox One (and presumably PS4 version) will be playable on Microsoft’s & Sony’s next-generation machines while Rockstar Games continues to develop their upcoming new enhanced port for the second half of 2021. Plus everyone who plans on buying the systems can still enjoy the next major update for GTA Online set for a release sometime this year.

It gets benefits from loading of course, as does every single game. Down to like 10 seconds into the campaign.

— Jez (@JezCorden) October 28, 2020

Microsoft recently sent out many review units to a huge number of media outlets in the past month. With that said earlier today Jez Corden, an editor at Windows Central reported on Twitter that GTA V benefits from loading improvements on Xbox Series X by playing the Xbox One version on backwards compatibility. Jez says the game loading can take up to less than ten seconds to load into the story mode. Though, while there are no reports of loading times in GTA Online right now, we can assume it will also benefit from faster loading but it will likely be depending on if your internet connection is fast enough to find or host a session as GTA Online heavily relies on the peer-to-peer play.

For those asking me if GTAV gets any benefits on Xbox Series X, answer is naw, locked to 30 FPS. Don't forget Rockstar made a lot of money selling that game twice at the start of last gen.

As ppl noted, Rockstar already announced next-gen enhanced versions of GTAV separately.

Of course, Jez also states the game still operates at capped 30 FPS. But it’s expected the game will finally operate with an uncapped frame-rate with the next version of the game in 2021.

Also, Twitch streamer Stallion83 that also has an Xbox Series X review unit shared a video on Twitter showing the incredble fast speeds of the loading in action. It’s truly some remakeable results!

Tested GRAND THEFT AUTO V and it loads REMARKABLY fast on Xbox Series X.

After the splash screens, it literally TAKES SECONDS to load up the story. 👀 #Xbox #XboxSeriesX pic.twitter.com/ZCEV6H9gHa

That’s it for today – we hope to cover even more soon when the consoles launches in November!
