Rockstar Games is continuing to hire for their grand User Generated Content (UGC) plans ahead of GTA 6’s release. A new job listing indicates evolving creator tools on console. This job is one found within the Creator Platform team. This part of Rockstar is now responsible for FiveM and the future of content creation within Rockstar Games’ titles.
Last month, we were first to report on job listings posted by Rockstar that showed the direction they are looking in. The job descriptions requested potential candidates must have a “deep understanding of the landscape of Creator Platforms (Roblox, Fortnite, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, etc.).”
We also looked at other wording that hinted at some of the User Generated Content (UGC) systems they are working on; likely for GTA 6. Now another job listing has made it clear this is for consoles and not just PC.
FiveM And Beyond

Rockstar Games are currently seeking a Lead Programmer for their Creator Platform team. The person who ends up fulfilling this role will work on Rockstar’s “creator platforms, including FiveM and RedM” as per the job description.
There is an interesting line found in the requirements section of the job listing. Such a line has not found in other Creator Platform job listings prior to this just ones outside of the Creator team. It says candidates must have “At least one shipped console or PC title; preferably on the Xbox and/or PlayStation consoles.”
There is a preference for someone to have worked on a released console title over PC. This is something of note because FiveM and RedM are limited to PC. Whilst we do have the new Rockstar Mission Creator in GTA Online, what is being talked about here could be something grander than the toolset in GTA V currently.

Below are a few other lines from the job listing page:
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive strategy for the standup and continuous improvement of Rockstar’s Creator Platform technologies, which includes the FiveM and RedM platforms and associated creator tooling.
Desirable skills:
- A keen interest in the modding or User Generated Content communities.
- Experience with reverse engineering.
This position is a full-time based in office at Rockstar North in Edinburgh, Scotland. This is the lead office for GTA 6. Up until recently, pretty much all of the Creator Platform jobs were roles set up at the London office. The other ones we recently were first to report on were for Rockstar’s NYC headquarters.
We’ll have to wait and see how Rockstar plans to enable the next generation of creators and expand GTA’s universe with UGC.
