The first snippet for the new game by Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser’s new studio has been spotted in a job listing. What type of game the listing refers to will be sure to grab the attention of Rockstar Games fans.
Alongside Mr Houser, several former Rockstar veterans are part of this new company. These include Lazlow Jones (former writer, producer, actor), Michael Unsworth (former Vice President of Writing), and Adam Tedman (former VP of New Media).
Open world game confirmed?
First spotted by deadasdisco, a new job listing has been posted to their website with an interesting description. The Lead Gameplay Designer role states the chosen candidate will “Become the primary vision holder and hands-on contributor for character, controls, and camera design in an open world action-adventure game. The person in this role will lead a team of multi-disciplinary specialists to deliver best-in-class combat and third person action across multiple game modes.”
This tells us the project they are developing looks to be an open world game action-adventure game. This is not too surprising given Dan and co’s previous work. Plus, Leslie Benzies who was another prominent figure at Rockstar started a new company that is making an open world game.
Other job roles under “game development” include an art director, lead designer, senior art director, senior producer, senior technical director and technical director. Other open positions are available in the IT and corporate side of things.
