Red Dead Redemption has released on PC today, Tuesday 29th October. It has taken over 14 years since it originally launched on Xbox 360 and PS3 but fans can finally experience the game at high frame rates and enhanced graphics. Unfortunately there is no multiplayer but the community are looking forward to modding the game.
Rockstar Games have worked with Double Eleven to bring this game to PC gamers. They previously worked together on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch versions of Red Dead Redemption that released last year.
The game can be purchased on various PC storefronts: the Rockstar Store for Rockstar Games Launcher, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. This makes a change for Rockstar as the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition launched on their own platform first. It then arrived on the other two launchers after over a year of exclusivity.
Red Dead Redemption PC Price
The game retails at $49.99, £39.99, €39.99 on all of the three PC platforms. The Epic Games Store version will give you 5% back in Epic Rewards if you purchase it on that platform. In terms of download size, it is around 9GB in size on all platforms.
Red Dead Redemption PC Features
The game runs at up to 4K resolution and 144FPS. If you have supported hardware to run the game at such quality and performance that is. This is a huge step up over the original game and even the PS4 port running on PS5. Previously, Red Dead Redemption was stuck at 30FPS on all platforms until a 60FPS patch for the PS4 version (when running on PS5) came out last year.
Graphics settings such as draw distance, shadow quality and more can be changed. Red Dead Redemption on PC will also support aspect ratios such as Ultrawide (21:9) and Super Ultrawide (32:9). There will also be HDR10 support if you have a compatible display. Fans can opt to use a keyboard and mouse over controller if they wish to do so.
NVIDIA’s DLSS upscaling technology will be part of this game too. It has DLSS 3.7 and AMD’s FSR 3.0. In comparison, Red Dead Redemption 2 has DLSS 2.0 and FSR 2.0.
