Red Dead Redemption just got a 60FPS mode on PS5 and PS4 Pro. Rockstar Games and Double Eleven studios released a new update which unexpectedly contains a new smooth frame-rate option for the classic western. This is something fans have been wanting to experience for a very long time.
When the game released for the first time on PS4 and PS5 back in August, it did not have a 30FPS mode. We reported on the fact that it ran in 4K resolution at 30 frames per second on PS5.
There were several new graphics settings in the settings menu to allow the game to run better. These included Anti-Aliasing (FSR 2.2 or FXAA) and Motion Blur.
Now the game has just improved more with a brand new mode that doubles the frame rate.
60 FPS confirmed for Red Dead
Twitter user @NikZer8 first spotted a new Frame Rate option appear in the 1.03 update released on Wednesday. As you can see from the image below, you now have the option to pick between 30 and 60 FPS on PS5 and PS4 Pro in the display setting menu.
Early tests suggest the 60 FPS mode is a stable 60 which is great to see. Exact resolution count in this mode is unknown.
As shared by @videotechx, booting up Red Dead Redemption for the first time after installing the new update gives you a new screen. This displays the Frame Rate option and subtitles which is a nice touch.
