Red Dead Redemption 2 has reached its highest ever concurrent player count on Steam, 4 years after it released and the same year Rockstar Games abandoned Red Dead Online.
Yesterday, Steamdb recorded a total of 66,492 concurrent players on Red Dead Redemption 2, the highest ever player count for the game on Steam. The previous highest player count was 55,271 players back on Boxing Day in December 2019.
Yesterday was also the 4 year anniversary of Red Dead Online, when it was released as a ‘Beta’ before being abandoned earlier this year by Rockstar Games, so the anniversary could have also help boost the numbers as players returned to the Online, along with that, we had Black Friday which saw Red Dead Redemption 2 being massively reduced at a lot of retailers and on Online Stores and Americans were celebrating Thanksgiving, meaning more people had more time to play Videogames.
Red Dead Redemption 2 reportedly was also one of the best selling game during Black Friday on Steam.
Its good to see more people playing one of the best open world games to ever be created, and we can only hope more people will play the game and give it the love it deserves.
Red Dead Redemption 2 released for Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 back in October 2018 before releasing on PC on 5th November 2019.
