Red Dead Redemption 2 joins the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog line-up Sony have confirmed. The western epic will be able to be played as part of the PlayStation subscription service.
In a new blog post, the platform revealed the upcoming slate of titles making their way into the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog. The headliner is Rockstar Games’ Red Dead Redemption 2.
All PlayStation Plus subscribers at the Premium and Extra tiers will get full access to Red Dead Redemption 2 from May 21st. This also includes Red Dead Online. Games added to the catalog do leave from time to time. There is no length of time given for how long Red Dead Redemption 2 will be playable with PlayStation Plus.
Whilst there is no dedicated PS5 port or update, anyone playing on PS5 will get the PS4 Pro enhancements which is good if you’re checking the game out for the first time since getting a PS5.
The original Red Dead Redemption was part of the PlayStation Plus Game Catalog for some time before being removed. This was likely down to the PS4/PS5 re-release coming down the pipe.
Speaking of which, it just became part of GTA+, the monthly subscription service for GTA Online. Members of the service now get full access to the game on their Xbox or PS5 consoles. It joined a bunch of classic GTA games and since Red Dead entered, L.A. Noire also bulked up the value.
Red Dead Redemption PC port
In other Red Dead news, the first game is set to release on PC very soon. Rockstar accidently shared some code that reveals they are planning a PC port launch 14 years after the Xbox 360 and PS3 release. Learn more here.
