The team behind the popular GTA RP server nopixel have launched a brand new FiveM driving system for GTA V. Titled Cool Handling And Speed EnhanceR aka C.H.A.S.E.R for short, this FiveM Script adjusts how vehicles handle in the game.
It was first announced in March this year alongside several new content packs. At the time, the trailer for these purchasable packs stated that it would be a brand new system for driving that adds realistic drifting mechanics, power curves and more to cars and motorcycles.
There was also a proposed April release date however that was just missed. We now have the full list of what the Cool Handling And Speed EnhanceR is and its price which we’ll cover below.
Extensive feature list
C.H.A.S.E.R by Legacy_DMC has now been released alongside a Reveal Trailer that showcases its features. It is touted as “The Most Advanced FiveM Driving System” to date. This is in part to its live calculation of physical elements and more.
Another flagship feature are the new Power & Torque Curves, coming to FiveM for the first time. It aims to replicate some real-life vehicle curves. The is paired with a redesigned Transmission System offering three modes: Manual with Clutch, Sequential and Automatic.
There are also tons of small details to really give a sense of realism such as “Locking the wheel due to over-revving”, “Grinding the gears and harsh shifting when shifting without pressing the Clutch”, simulated Gear Ratios and much more. You’ll even be able to make tire profiles and change them in-game.
For accessibility, players can now make use of settings to aid driving. There is Traction Control, Stability Control, AT Gear Lock, Launch Control and such for extra control in those areas. These options will unlock the capabilities of many vehicles.
An Universal Performance System has been implemented using the Performance Points (PP) rating. The scale of this system starts at 0 and ends at 1000. Several factors are used to determine a vehicles PP. These include top speed, handling, and acceleration.
We’ve also got information on the new Engine Breaking System. It lets vehicles maintain top speed by that gear, not so steep hills and more. Weight also plays a part in this pack. How heavy a vehicle is will affect its speed and handling. Here are some given examples: “Heavy vehicles with light vehicle engines will be slow” and “Powerful engines on light vehicles will be fast”.
Speaking of engines, players will be able to “create their own engine profiles and store them into a file”. This will adjust the car’s power to weight profile and sound. A new turbo system also partners up with it. There are so many other details worth reading about in full on the C.H.A.S.E.R site.
The pack is not limited to stuff under the hood though. Cars will have animated interiors with sound effects to make an even more immersive experience.
Drifting is another key headline act for this pack. It contains the first ever Driving System script for FiveM. This is not only for handling but also gear shifting animations that “vary depending on the transmission mode, sound effects for pedals, gear shifting, paddles and many more.”
As for game performance, C.H.A.S.E.R has been well optimised despite all of its feature set. According to the tebex store page description, the average performance is around 0.15ms and this includes Live Physics, Demo Hud, and custom base events. It is noted that disabling any of those could reduce that timing even more. All players will be able to hear the new car sounds, gear shifts, RPM fly wheel changes and more as well.
Price and release
C.H.A.S.E.R is available on the nopixel tebex store for $33.60 a month. This is the most expensive item on the nopixel store. Server owners can now use this in their own FiveM server. Just like the other content packs from nopixel, it is easy to use. The store page says “We made sure to keep exports as simple as possible, and keep the script highly configurable to suit most users’ needs.”
