A new and unexpected Red Dead Redemption 2 patch has been released by Rockstar Games. It adds updated support for FSR 2.2, HDR, fixes a bug fans have been asking to be sorted and much more.

Despite no new major content updates in years, Rockstar Games are still continuing to releasing patches and Event Months. These tend to be only to address security and stability issues with the game.

We saw this with the previous update that was released on January 31st. It was put out to fix cheaters crashing Red Dead Online lobbies. However, today’s update has included more than usual.

As of March 19th, game version 1.32 has gone live across all platforms: PC, Xbox One and PS4. It comes in at 1.52GB on Xbox One and 1.047GB on PS4.

Update Highlights

The main parts of this update fans will want to know about is the updated AMD FSR support. The game now uses FSR 2.2, up from 2.0. Plus, HDR10+ GAMING support has been added for compatible displays and graphics cards. On top of that, the stable glitch causing players to remain in them has been resolved. We know our readers will be happy about that fix in particular.

Below are the patch notes shared by Rockstar Support:

  • Updated AMD Fidelity Super Resolution (FSR) libraries to version 2.2
  • Fixed an issue that resulted in 3200×2400 resolution being unavailable

Support continues but barely

It’s no surprise Rockstar Games want to keep patching the game. Last month, it was the most downloaded PS4 game in the USA, Canada and Europe. This is a feat it seems to achieve every so often despite releasing all the way back in 2018.

Fans of this masterpiece continue to be disappointed how Rockstar have stopped producing major new content for this game. Since Rockstar Games announced they’d be stepping back from Red Dead Online as GTA VI development heated up, RDR2 has consistently brought in millions of new players and broke its own records.

Speaking of patches, just a few days ago Rockstar Games put out a patch for Red Dead Redemption’s PS4 and Switch release. Much like the above patch for the sequel, it was a just small one. You can find out what the update was for here.

Red Dead Online happenings

The current Red Dead Online event is still on until early April. You can find out everything that’s live in the game here. Be on the lookout at the start of next month when we cover what will happen next in Red Dead Online.
