A fan of GTA V has shared a video of him playing the blockbuster on his Tesla Model S car. It plays better than you might expect.
Whole Mars Catalog Tweeted “Playing Grand Theft Auto 5 on my Tesla Model S” and a video from inside the car. The game is displayed on the central screen. On the dashboard you can see a Steam message. The main display plays the mission where Franklin sneaks into Michael’s house and steals Jimmy’s car for Simeon.
The gameplay looks fairly smooth considering it’s in a car and can be controlled via Bluetooth enabled controllers such as the Xbox Series or PS5 Dualsense pads.

This video even attracted the attention of the official Tesla X/Twitter account who shared it to their followers. In doing so, this brought the video to Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla and owner of X/Twitter.
Tesla wrote in response “Play Grand Theft Auto while doing grand theft auto!” Meanwhile Elon Musk said “You can play state-of-the-art video games in your Model S or X and seamlessly integrate your Steam account”.

How can it do this?
Last December we covered how the electric vehicle manufacturer integrated Valve’s Steam PC gaming platform into their cars.
Tesla upgraded the computers inside their latest electric cars in 2021. YouTuber Ingineerix took the PC out so we can get a look at its specs. The car was equipped with a quad-core Ryzen 45W APU based on the Zen+ architecture. You’re looking at around 10 Teraflops of processing power here.
Whilst there are a lot of specs that make up a game console or PC, the PS5 offers around 10 Teraflops of power from its AMD APU. Due to the compute power inside, the car can support games as demanding such as Cyberpunk 2077. So parking your Tesla and playing GTA V at 60fps whenever you like will be no problem.
