Rockstar Remove Key Features From Rockstar Social Club

It appears Rockstar Games have either removed some of the main features of the Rockstar Social Club website or they are missing due to a bug. This has created a lot of speculation within the GTA community over the future with GTA Online and usefulness of Rockstar Social Club ahead of GTA 6’s release.

This comes after a feature was officially discontinued a few months ago and Rockstar began phasing out the Rockstar Social Club branding in late 2023. It became known as the Rockstar Games Platform though most fans still call it Rockstar Social Club.

Rockstar Social Club Loses Social Features

On Monday, fans on Reddit spotted a number of missing features from the Rockstar Games Platform. The list includes viewing profiles of other players, wall feeds and the ability to search for other people’s photos and videos.

You can still view Crew Pages and jobs but you cannot view profiles of anyone you come across nor view your own or others’ feeds. Some links are now redirecting to Rockstar’s Newswire page too.

Given the video upload function was removed a few month ago, the inability to search videos is not a huge surprise but everything else is. Fans have shared their frustration at the unannounced loss social features found on the Rockstar Social Club. Ironic. This reduction in functionality will have a negative impact on the job creation community especially.

Lost Forever Or Temporary?

There is always a possibility these features have issues on the backend that require fixing. So they may return once Rockstar have fixed them given the systems are quite old now. Or due to the age and security concerns (Social Club has been targeted a lot by bad actors) Rockstar have decided to end support for such functions.

If features such as wall feeds don’t return, players are not very pleased. Hopefully it is a temporary removal for security system improvements. Though Rockstar have not commented on the matter.

This is not the only website issue Rockstar have faced recently. Last week, their support site began listing GTA 4 for PS4 and giving Red Dead Redemption 2 “Online migration” menus. These were resolved when it blew up on social media. Whether these are “leaks” or a mistake that means nothing remains to be seen.

How would you feel if Rockstar removed these Social Club features forever? How will this impact you? Let us know down in the comments section below.
