You’re now able to play GTA 6‘s map of Vice City and the surrounding areas in Leonida before GTA 6 even comes out. This impressive recreation of Rockstar’s upcoming map has been done by fans to help with the wait.
Last year, we reported on a 3D model was being built of a mapping project for the new game. Much like what the community did for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 before they came out, this has been a lot of fun to keep tabs on. Both attempts were somewhat close to the final games.
Named Project Vice, it takes everything we know about the game so far from the gameplay leaks in 2022 and the first official trailer. This project has evolved substantially over the past year or so thanks to the dedication of these die-hard fans.
Of course, we have not see most of the map yet so not every part of Leonida is playable. Once we get GTA 6 Trailer 2, that will be used to make this mapping project get even more closer to the real thing. It has been claimed trailer 2 will come out next month.
Downloadable GTA 6 Map

YouTube content creator Dark Space has spent many hours bring the mapping project to life in 3D. He has now brought it into GTA V. You will be able to download it for free and check it out inside of GTA V. This works for both GTA V Legacy and GTA V Enhanced on PC.
This also includes GTA RP servers. If you want to build content for this map to run on servers, you are able to do so. Dark Space explains in his video that this map will really give you a sense of scale for places such as Vice City. Below is a comparison of the GTA VI trailer and the map you can download.

Sense Of Scale
The map is scaled to be accurate so the distance of going from one part of Vice City to another is fairly close to GTA 6. It is clear from this model the new map is going to be quite a lot bigger than Southern San Andreas.

For various valid reasons, it is not perfect. The map makes use of many assets from GTA V so things will look familiar though there are some new things to see as well. These include GTA VI assets that have been remade based on what we see in the trailer.
New assets take time to create and whilst everything being custom is a dream goal, it is not really feasible. There are no lights and a lot of the buildings lack collision so you will be driving through them, just a word of warning. These compromises are worth it though. Some issues might be resolved in the future if time allows it. Speaking of future updates, things like the docks will be coming next.

If you wish to download the GTA VI map file for GTA V, you can do so from Dark Space’s Discord server right here. This is assuming Take-Two do not force its removal. You can also watch his long, in-depth video on the model here.
UPDATE: 24th March – Take-Two Interactive sent a copyright takedown of the video.
