Want 4 days off to play GTA 6? The United States Army are offering you that just that as long as you sign back up for a few years. In a new report from CBS news, Grand Theft Auto VI play time is being offered as an incentive to entice soldiers back into service.
An internal memo from the army states any soldier who signs a reenlistment contract between August 1st and November 14th 2026 will be given a “special four-day pass” to coincide with the release of GTA VI. In exchange for this 4-day GTA 6 binge session, you must commit a minimum of 2 years service. A maximum 6 can be done too.
This is currently exclusive to a specific battalion based out of Georgia. It’s the 9th Brigade Engineering Battalion which is stationed at Fort Stewart. However, it is said that this could expand further across the country. Perhaps if reenlistment numbers go up because of this bonus, it will be up for grabs across the nation.
Some people might be quick to think that no one would accept 4 days off for years of service especially after coming out of it. That is no longer the case at least according to the Army themselves. Lt. Col. Angel Tomko, a spokesperson for the division, told CBS news 20 soldiers out of 130 eligible at the Georgia-based outfit have taken them up on this offer.
“The idea was to have a unique incentives program that connects to what Soldiers are interested in. The command team, in conjunction with the career counsellor, wanted to get soldiers excited to reenlist.”
As we’ve known for some time now the United States is not a serious country in some aspects. In fact the satirical jokes found in the world of Grand Theft Auto are no longer far fetched. This headline could easily be something found within one of the games.
