In a surprise turn of events, Rockstar Games have released a second patch for GTA Online in a week for the month of December. Following the release of the highly anticipated December update with gameplay improvements and the Los Santos Drug Wars content, this new patch is to just fix major game breaking bugs.
Download size
It has been made available to download on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles. You’ll be required to download this update in order to play GTA Online. The patch comes in at around 662.mb on Xbox Series X|S.
Meanwhile on PS5, it is over half as small with a download size of 273mb.

[December 16, 2022] – Game Stability and Performance
- Fixed multiple crashes that occurred in GTAV and GTA Online
The most likely bugs that have been fixed are to do with game crashes players in the community have been facing since the introduction of features such as Ray Tracing in the earlier December update. Combining Ray Traced reflections and the Up n’ Atomiser with Festive livery was an instant game crash. Interested in more bug fixes? Background update details
Rockstar also released a background update for GTA Online on the same day as this second GTA V patch and thanks to community member Tez2, we have what Rockstar changed. As you can see it fixed a few issues with the Los Santos Drug Wars missions and other parts of GTA Online.
The most wonderful time of year for GTA Online
Alongside these two updates this week, there is a lot more happening in GTA Online. From a limited time free vehicle, a perk-filled month of GTA+, a busy event week, to the game no longer requiring PS+ during this period, it’s a fun time in GTA Online.
