The rumour on social media right now is the person behind leaking 90 videos of Grand Theft Auto VI may have been arrested.
The City Of London Police have confirmed a 17 year old male has been arrested in Oxfordshire for hacking.
City Of London Police, are the police force responsible for looking after the Financial District called the City Of London and not the capital city itself. They are also responsible for investigating fraud and online breaches to services.
Although it hasn’t been confirmed this male has been arrested for the Rockstar Games and Uber breaches it connects up with the information we’ve got.
The group behind the hacking is a group called Lapsus$. The owner of the group is a 17 year old boy from Oxfordshire, who was arrested and bailed by The City Of London Police earlier this year for amassing over ยฃ10 Million through hacking companies such as Microsoft, Samsung and more.
The Rockstar Games leaker was also doxed, revealing him as the 16 year old boy from Oxfordshire who committed the above offences. The City of London Police and the National Crime Agency would also be the two forces in the UK that would investigate the Rockstar Games breach.
Journalists are also claiming their sources are saying the 17 year old kid has been arrested for hacking and accessing Rockstar Games assets illegally
We have approached City Of London Police for comment, although Reuters have reported that City Of London Police cant comment if its related to the GTA 6 leak
