Rockstar Games have posted their first ever TikTok after months of having an account with almost no activity. The first video they have posted publicly on their account on that platform is exactly what you would expect it to be: the second GTA VI trailer.
Despite being on the platform for several months without posting a single thing to their feed, Rockstar gained just under 1 million followers. Now they have begun using it. Noticed by GameRoll on Twitter, Rockstar shared their first post late on Thursday. It’s just the entire second trailer in full. Nothing special or unique. It’s even in landscape despite TikTok’s orientation being short portrait videos.
Rockstar have already shown in the trailers and screenshots there will be a TikTok-like app in the game. The logo for it can be seen on the back of this Vice Beach Police car below. It is located to the right of the Lifeinvader logo that returns from GTA V. Social media will seemingly play a large part in GTA VI.

Blowing Up
At the time of writing, the trailer has amassed over 180,000 views, 35,000 likes and 5000 comments on TikTok. This is rapidly going up. Though these numbers are quite a lot less than on other platforms. That said, Rockstar will seemingly be using it more now ahead of GTA VI’s 2026 release. Rockstar have also passed 1 million followers.
According to GameRoll, Rockstar have published GTA Online adverts on TikTok prior to this trailer post. This is not too similar from them posting regular GTA Online ads on Reddit but never making posts on there. It will be interesting to see how Rockstar approaches their marketing on such a different platform. This will be their first game release since the app was popular.
TikTok is not the only new platform Rockstar Games have joined and begun posting content to. In the past year, the company has made a WhatsApp channel, Discord server, Threads and of course their TikTok account. Speaking of Threads, they made their first post on there with the second trailer as well.
If you’re looking for more video footage of GTA VI, Rockstar shared several clips including some at 60FPS. You can watch them all here.
