PlayStation have just shared a stat involving GTA V. As part of their celebration for the 15th anniversary of PlayStation Plus, the company have included what were the most played games in the service in recent times.
A blog post released on Wednesday takes a look forward at what’s next for PS+ along with celebratory events and such. Included in this post from PlayStation was a chart for the Top 10 most-played PS Plus games of spring.
The date range is April 1st through May 28th 2025. This top 10 chart is also based on playtime hours only so not most users or anything else. It is also only displayed in alphabetical order. GTA V did get into this top 10 list along with other popular titles such as The Last of Us Part I, Ghost of Tsushima and God of War Ragnarök.
This is impressive as even though it has sold over 215 million copies worldwide, people are still choosing to play it via PS+ rather than buy it despite people asking “who doesn’t own GTA V at this point?” Another thing of note is that GTA V left PS+ on May 20th so it had 8 days less to rack up hours played compared to the others.

The monthly subscription service features multiple tiers for those that just want to play online multiplayer to classic PS1 and PS2 titles. PS+ is usually required to play GTA Online however that requirement has been temporarily removed. This to celebrate the release of the latest update: Money Fronts.
For PlayStation Plus Subscribers
Speaking of PlayStation Plus, those that are subscribed can play GTA III for the next few months. Last month, the game joined PlayStation Plus’ Game Catalog for those subscribed to the Extra and Premium tiers. Learn more here.
