Rockstar Games have released a new background patch for GTA Online. This comes just a week after Rockstar put out a background update with a variety of fixes. This week, Rockstar have focused on stopping a few god mode exploits and a persona vehicle issue on Thursday alongside the Lunar New Year Event Week.
For those unaware, background updates fix issues without need to download an update. It is all handled server side. The next time you play GTA Online, the below changes will have been made. Rockstar have put out over half a dozen updates since the launch of the A Safehouse in the Hills update showing the company are being proactive.
Patch Notes
The recent background update details from February 19th come from the ever reliable community insider Tex2. He shared patch notes of the background update on Twitter. Below are all of the known changes:
- Fixed an issue that resulted in certain personal vehicles being blacklisted while matchmaking via On Call in freemode
- Patched “Michael’s Special Ability in MP” glitch
- Patched Facility Vehicle God Mode glitch
- Patched RC Bandito God Mode glitch
- Patched Mansion OTR glitch
- Patched Mansion Car Dupe glitch
One annoying issue affecting mansion owners was not fixed in this background update: the fire sound in mansions. As part of the latest Event Week, Rockstar added lantern decorations to mansions to celebrate the Lunar New Year. These lanterns are creating a fire sound leading to some fans expressing their annoyance on social media.
