A new GTA Online update has added an AI that listens to voice chat so it can ban offenders. Rockstar Games released the patch on Wednesday. This update is only for the PC version of GTA V.
What’s included in this update?
According to community insider Tez2, Rockstar Games have implemented some new features to combat toxicity in GTA Online. One of these new features is ToxMod. This is an AI-powered voice moderation tool to make online gaming safer for everyone.
Big games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, Call of Duty: Warzone and Among Us VR have begun using this tool. If you’re wondering why this is being used, ToxMod cite research that “83% of adult gamers report facing toxicity online, across every demographic of player, though often with emphasis on targeting the underprivileged.”
The idea is the AI will be able to detect certain things said by players and record it to aid banning bad actors more effectively.

Rockstar’s fight on bad behaviour doesn’t end there. The studio has also provided players with two new reporting options: Phone Texts and Emails.
