Rockstar Games have launched a new GTA Online event for free money that is exclusive to Japan. Announced in a newswire post on the Japanese version of Rockstar’s website, fans located in the country are the only ones who can earn some free money.
For the first time, the Japanese GTA Online community can come together to earn a huge payout of money in GTA Online. According to the blogpost, Rockstar want to celebrate the release of GTA Online’s latest content update, San Andreas Mercenaries with a community initiative. This event features 2 chances of earning cash in GTA Online.
First challenge and reward
If you sell smuggled cargo between now and September 7th and as a collective the community makes GTA$300,000,000, you’ll be gifted a $500K bonus by Rockstar.
Second challenge and reward
The second part of this event gives all GTA Online players regardless of smuggled cargo. Some of the biggest YouTube and Twitch creators will be streaming GTA Online over a 4 day period from August 31st to September 3rd.
Each day there will be challenges to complete. If the creators do complete these challenges the entire GTA Online player base in Japan will receive GTA$2 million.
Rockstar Games say the teams will be able to track progress in the challenge by using the new in-game career progress menu. The studio shared this chart to show a breakdown of the money.
This challenge will end on September 7th at 18:00 JST and is only for players located in the country of Japan. If both challenges are completed, a cool $2.5m can be earned but very little work in GTA Online. The money will be deposited into your Maze Bank account within 72 hours after the closure of the event.
This event is really interesting to see and we look forward to Rockstar launching more events such as this one.
