More people have pre-ordered the $100 GTA 6 Ultimate Edition than the base game. That’s according to Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar’s parent company) CEO Strauss Zelnick.
Late last week Take-Two became the world’s largest publicly traded video game publisher and shared with investors some hints towards GTA VI’s current sales success. This also followed the announcement of the Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look coming later in the month.
It’s the days after Take-Two’s earnings report and CEO Strauss Zelnick is on the press tour. As always, the CEO visited CNBC’s Squawk Box where he told the hosts “pre-orders have gone much better than expected” for Grand Theft Auto VI.
One of the Squawk Box hosts asked Zelnick of people are pre-ordering the $79.99 or $99.99 versions. The CEO initially responded with “both” before added that it is “skewing premium edition”.

So as of right now, more people have bought Grand Theft Auto VI’s Ultimate Edition than standard despite early complaints about price, contents and lack of discs. Zelnick did just quickly end his response by cautioning investors the data so far might be because it is mostly die-hard fans buying the game right now as opposed to waiting for launch.
