It appears our first look at Max Payne Remake artwork has just been posted by Remedy Entertainment themselves. It has been largely quiet on the development of the two remakes but Remedy have dropped small crumbs here and their since the project’s announcement. This seems to be the first piece of artwork to have come from the remakes.
Office Artwork
The studio behind many critically games such as Alan Wake 2 and Control shared an interesting post on their official Instagram account on Wednesday.
Spotted by @videotechuk_, Remedy uploaded two images to their account. The first image shows an illustration of Max Payne and a New York City backdrop. An interesting detail to note is we can see the One World Trade Center in the background. This could indicate a modern NYC will be the setting of the remakes.
Whilst this awesome looking decal is interesting, the game is still a few years out and it is possible this won’t be used in something like the game’s marketing. It could simply be used as a piece to decorate and inspire the team at Remedy now they are set to enter full production.
The second image depicts the cover art of Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne. The pictures were accompanied by a caption that says “New Max Payne decals are now gracing some of our office spaces and meeting rooms at Remedy Finland HQ. What do you think?“
This comes after Take-Two and Remedy had a formal legal dispute over Remedy’s new logo. Despite Rockstar Games and Take-Two funding the remakes which Remedy are making, they had to do legal proceedings together. It was not a malicious attack and was simply a formality as we reported on here.
When will we hear more about the remake?
Remedy will reveal their next financial results to investors on March 20th. We will most likely hear a new update on the progress of this project on that date. The most recent development update provided by Remedy was back in October 2023.
It was “progressing well” and had a “small team focused on the core of any successful product, the gameplay.” Remedy also expected the team to grow in numbers by the end of 2023.
Previously, Sam Lake said the remakes are “a significant undertaking in the sense that even if they are old games, just thinking about bringing them up to modern standards and combining them into one, you can see that it’s a big, big project.”

I think we are much closer to release date then we think. Because I assume the remakes could release by fall 2025
And what basis for this do you have? Lol
Great can’t wait
I guess that is the one WTC. If it is, I would have preferred they leave it out of the game and just make the Aesir building the focal point of the skyline. After all, the game does take place in 1998 and 2001. I know some people dont like seeing the original WTC, but do we have to pretend like it never even existed?
