Las Vegas comes to GTA V with this map extension mod

The Las Venturas Team claim their project is “the most ambitious Grand Theft Auto mod ever made” and in this article we will show you new locations being added to GTA V with a mod. There is a whole host of details you do not want to miss including a playable version you can jump into right now so read on!

The screenshots they’ve released so far show an impressive display!

What is the Las Venturas Project?

Despite our love for GTA V’s map of Los Santos and Blaine County, many players would love an expansion to it taking us back to Las Venturas and Bone County, from GTA San Andreas. This is why a group of modding friends have come together to rectify this.

Detailing the vision

The Las Venturas Team say the current version of the mod (as of August 2022) is a 3km² tile. This specific area of the map expansion partially contains Route 69, El Castillo del Diablo and Heatstroke Highway. It is also stated that there is a hotel, The Melasuda, and a few roads to go with it.

Whilst the area at the moment is just 3km² in size, the team are ambitious and aim to reach 70km². Fun fact, the vanilla GTA V map is just short of 76km² meaning this mod could be almost as big! It is worth noting the size and scope of this mod will likely change as the modders work on it.

Release Information

You’re probably wondering when you can get your hands on this mod and we do have some proposed time frames. The team say “a first version model that features its surface, most emblematic buildings of the Las Venturas city and the various districts” is proposed for December 2022. Following into 2023, they will work to see through their vision. However, you won’t need to wait long before you can try out a small portion of this mod. The LV Team have launched a Patreon to support their work and some tiers will grant you access to the current version of the map. The aim is to have monthly updates.

On top of letting supporters get early access to the mod, Patrons can help shape development by participating in surveys and earlier builds of the game without having to wait for the monthly update. It is important to note that when the mod is complete it will be released for free for everyone and there will be no purchase necessary!

Mod Compatability

The Las Venturas Project is confirmed to be compatible with mods that affect graphics such as NaturalVision Evolved. The Patreon FAQ also states this mod is currently single player only and ScriptHookV to run. There will be a FiveM version coming soon via Tebex.

If you’d like to get early access to this mod and support the members behind the project, you can check out their Patreon here. Will Take-Two Interactive take down this? Only time will tell… Be sure to stay tuned to RockstarINTEL for all Grand Theft Auto news updates.
