Rockstar Games are doing something we’ve never seen them do before. The company is giving away in-game cash for GTA Online to celebrate a FiveM GTA RP server which they’re promoting. This is quite a significant moment for GTA Online and FiveM. Rockstar Games are bringing the vanilla and modded versions of GTA Online closer together.
It has just passed the one year mark since Rockstar Games acquired the team behind FiveM. Since then, they have done a couple of promotions involving FiveM/GTA RP. Before the purchase they would never had even acknowledged them.
Spotted by @Felipeborges388 and shared via @videotechuk_, Rockstar Games have started an ad campaign in Brazil and Portugal. Social posts such as Tweets have gone live on the official Rockstar Games social channels but they are only visible on timelines in those two countries.
A promoted Tweet for this campaign when translated reads “For the opening of CPX Fest on @complexogg, the largest Brazilian GTA RP server, players from Brazil and Portugal will earn GTA$400k for playing GTA Online between 08/19 and 09/01. New players from these countries will receive an additional GTA$400,000 as an incentive.
This means any GTA Online player in either Brazil and Portugal will earn $400,000 of in-game cash just for playing. This is not the first time Rockstar have done regional only promos. Last year we saw them do similar one for the Japanese GTA Online community.
Furthermore, if you are new GTA Online, you’ll earn an additional $400,000 of in-game cash in this period. This kick starts your criminal career in Los Santos with $800k to spend on whatever you like.
Rockstar x GTA RP
Back in April, it was rumoured Rockstar Games met with Loud over a GTA RP partnership. Loud is a major Brazilian esports organisation and have a group of streamers signed to them. One of them is Coringa and he reportedly teased Rockstar Games employees flew to Brazil to meet these streamers and discuss a partnership. Several other Brazilian streamers hinted such things had taken place.
Now we’re in August and Complexo’s CPX Fest has begun. This event takes place inside this GTA RP server from August 19th through September 1st. From stand-up comedy to game shows, this fun-filled festival is being livestreamed by many Brazilian streamers.
Many GTA RP servers host big events like this both on the server and via streams. Last month we learned Nopixel’s Music Awards will return for a third year later in 2024.
Earlier this month it was claimed a form of FiveM is coming to GTA Online officially. This includes console support. During the past year, Rockstar Games have been on a hiring spree for FiveM and their potentially upcoming “Rockstar Creator Platform”. You can read more about all of this here.
