Rockstar Games have been accidentally banning innocent GTA Online players since the introduction of the new anti-cheat. The bans were issued as part of a large crackdown on cheaters using mod menus among other tools to disrupt GTA Online.
We previously shared reports of the massive ban waves hitting GTA Online on PC last month. Many disgruntled hackers shared their frustration of being banned in cheating Discord servers. Unfortunately, some bystanders were caught in the crossfire including some of our own readers.
Thankfully, Rockstar Games are in the process of unbanning accounts which they have found to not have actually cheated. Plus, they launched a ban-appeal form alongside the new anti-cheat. Players who were unfairly banned by Rockstar in GTA Online and filled out the form will be unbanned. Rockstar Games insider Tez2 shared an email sent to one of those players.
The the header Account Ban Lifted, it reads: We have reviewed your account and your GTA Online ban is being lifted. Please allow two hours for your account to be fully reinstated if it isn’t already. Regards, Rockstar Support
If yourself or others you know have submitted an appeal but are yet to be unbanned, fear not. Tez2 explains it may take around two weeks from when you submit a request via the appeal form before Rockstar unbans the affected account.

Rockstar Responds
Rockstar Games also published a new support article titled Rockstar Games Account BattlEye Enforcement and the question is Why did my account get banned from GTA Online?
The studio say in their answer field that “We are aware of bad actors who recently attempted to bypass our security measures and unfairly influence gameplay in GTA Online. Some legitimate player accounts were inadvertently affected by our security sweeps to take action on those accounts. We have since taken action to fully restore any player whose account was initially banned during our security investigation, but subsequently found to not be in violation of our Terms of Service.
An email has been sent to those players confirming that their account has been restored. Accounts where bans were removed may take up to two hours to be fully restored. Bans remain in place for any account where an email notification was not sent.”
If you’re still banned despite never cheating, you can always use the suspension and ban appeal form as mentioned above. How are you finding GTA Online now it has had a major update to its security? Let us know down in the comments.

The bad sport is full of cheaters
Who cares about cheaters in an 11 year old game they need to focus on GTA 6 and just drop GTA V they milked the tit long enough and need to refresh this shit instead of being worried about hackers for a game that has no rewards or anything for having high k/d and tons of money
