Rockstar Games and Discord have teamed up to bring GTA Online players a limited time gift. We’ll be showing you what it is and how to get it before it disappears.
Announced on Thursday via their support page, and spotted by @LukePlayzz11P, Discord have added GTA Online as the latest game to get a “Quest”. Quests are a new feature in Discord that grant gamers a profile gift when playing their favourite games.
The quest is titled GTA Online Quest and it asks users to simply play Grand Theft Auto Online for just 15 minutes. In return, you’ll receive The Los Santos avatar decoration. These are items that can be optionally added to your Discord profile picture.
In this case, the design the Seal of the City of Los Santos outer ring animated helicopter. It has text that reads City of Los Santos and Founded 1781 inside a blue circle and smaller yellow circles are on the outside. The short animation has a helicopter appear in front of your profile picture and it has its light on before it flies past.
According to Discord, this quest is only available on the PC version of GTA Online for US players. However, it appears to be available in most countries based on users sharing their experience online. You also have until 11:59PM UTC on August 14th 2024 to complete the quest. The item must also be redeemed by September 14th 2024
Whilst a cool design, you can’t use it forever. One disappointing aspect to this gift is that it lasts for 2 months and then it will be removed from your Discord profile. The exact date you’ll lost access to it is after October 14th 2024.
How to Complete the Quest And Redeem The Item
In order to start the quest, you must accept. Go to your User Settings by selecting the cogwheel in the lower left corner. Then click the Gift Inventory in the side menu. There will be a banner like the image above in this article. Press Accept Quest and you can begin it.
In order for this to work, Discord say you must play GTA Online for 15 minutes with Discord open at the same time. It can be either the desktop app or the website open in a browser. We have tested that opening GTA V and sitting in the main menu works and is not limited to GTA Online. You can view your progress with the updating progress part in your Gift Inventory menu.
When Discord has registered the 15 minutes you can select Claim Reward within the GTA Online Quest banner on the menu. Or, a popup will be displayed in the bottom left of Discord, just above your profile.
