YouTube have just revealed a new and extraordinary stat about GTA VI and the GTA community. As we know, the first GTA VI trailer became an instant hit on YouTube. It broke various YouTube records, world records and more all within the first day and beyond.
We’re halfway through 2024 and YouTube have just released their Culture and Trends Report for 2023. They have taken time to analyse what happened on the platform last year and of course there is a dedicated section to the GTA VI trailer in this report.
Under the Supersizing Cultural Moments section, YouTube reiterate that it hit 93 million views in 24 hours making it the fastest non-music video to reach that number by some margin. They then go onto talking about the videos fans posted about the trailer.
These include trailer reactions, breakdowns, and more. The new stat YouTube have revealed was that these videos generated a total of 192 million views in just the first 24 hours.
What’s insane about this number is that YouTube previous shared the number of fan content within 48 hours. A few days after the trailer released, YouTube said fan videos about GTA VI delivered over 250 million views in the first 48 hours. Now we know the main bulk of those views, 192 million of them, came within the first day.
It has been 6 months since the trailer dropped early following the Twitter leak. The video has now racked up over 198 million views. It will soon hit 200 million. This will likely happen well before Rockstar Games release the second GTA VI trailer.
