The GTA VI trailer has been such a hit on YouTube, so the company have released a new blog post dedicated to the video. It shares some exact details on the crazy viral trailer from Rockstar Games. We also got an amount of how many views trailer reuploads and reactions on other channels brought in.
The record is official
To start with, the video platform confirmed it did hit 93 million views in 24 hours. This broke the previous non-music video views within 24 hours record. Additional world records it broke can be found here.
Something else worth of mentioning is that the GTA VI trailer was the number one trending video on YouTube for over 2 days in a row. Typically a video that reaches the number one spot does not last that long.
Collective views are also insane
As for other videos covering GTA VI such as reactions, breakdowns and trailer reuploads, YouTube have shared how many views the game has already. For a period of around 2 days starting when when the trailer released, over 250 million views on videos about Grand Theft Auto VI have been counted.
It is quite incredible over a quarter of a billion views have been generated in around 48 hours solely from the GTA VI trailer.
The YouTube blog post also celebrates the GTA community on YouTube. They showcase one of the first ever GTA videos uploaded to the site, a video of GTA San Andreas from all the way back in 2005. Links to car meets, let’s plays and IRL GTA short films are also included. You can check out the full blog post here.
Rockstar Games also achieved 10 million YouTube subscribers and you can find out more here.
