GTA 6 is the most anticipated game among UK gamers a new study has revealed. Data collected and analysed by Uswitch shows the next installment in the Grand Theft Auto series is miles ahead of the competition already.
In the past year, GTA VI has garnered over 6.4 million searches online despite not releasing until May 26th 2026. Much of the interest is made up of the game’s release date which was revealed in May this year. That alone accounted for 2,176,000 searches.
Uswitch took a look at Google search data and other sources to publish a forward looking report of video games. The research period covered September 2024 through August 2025 and was correct as of September 2025.
GTA 6 Is Unlike The Others
In comparison, the runner up was Battlefield 6 with around 902,600 searches this year. Though it is worth noting BF6 did not get announced and revealed until this summer. The rest of the top 10 all released or will be released in 2025 unlike GTA 6.
Last year, GTA 6 won The Game Award for “Most Anticipated Game”. Given it has been delayed to next year and The Game Award will be held in 2 months, could it win again? We’ll find out in due course. Take-Two and Rockstar Games know themselves GTA 6 is without a doubt the most anticipated game of all time.
