Excitement for GTA 6 is rising but it is not topping the list of consumers at the moment. That’s according to a new report asking people which upcoming piece of entertainment are they most interested in right now.
We are what feels like just days away from pre-orders opening alongside a third trailer for this game. We’ve not heard anything from Rockstar Games about GTA VI for over a year now so some excitement had begun to wane. Fans have been frustrated by Rockstar’s silence. That is somewhat noticeable in this new chart.
That said, the data you will see below was collected before the Best Buy pre-order leak from Thursday. No doubt the excitement will soon rise again in future polling.

Provided by Screen Engine/ASI via The Wrap (paywalled), a new study has found Grand Theft Auto VI to be the seventh most interesting thing in upcoming entertainment. It has 2.22% of all mentions. The game has “sustained anticipation” according to The Wrap. This data was collected on the week of May 2nd through 8th.
A report like this is done every single week. The data comes from over a thousand media consumers. They are asked “What is the thing they are most interested in watching or playing in the next month or so?”
It’s also worth pointing out that the majority of the content polling higher than Grand Theft Auto VI have just come out or are about to. GTA VI is still many months away with a November 19th released date locked in. For example, stopping the chart is Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu which releases next Friday. The only thing above GTA VI not recently released is Stranger Things which finished a few months ago. Stay tuned for more tracking of data in the coming weeks and months.
