Rockstar Games co-founder and former lead writer behind GTA, Red Dead Redemption and more, Dan Houser, will take part in a multi-hour long interview. There’s even an extremely rare opportunity to ask him a question. For GTA, Red Dead and general gaming fans, this is an historical event to be part of. Will he discuss GTA 6? We’ll have to wait and see.
For over 25 years, Rockstar Games and co-founders Sam and Dan Houser have built a reputation of being secret. The brothers have stayed clear from the limelight letting their creativity and team’s efforts do the talking. Now Dan and several other longtime Rockstar staff have exited the company to form their own studio, they have begun to talk more.
The Longest Rockstar Games Interview
Popular podcast host Lex Fridman announced on the GTA subreddit (spotted via GameRoll on Twitter) that he will be interviewing Dan Houser soon. Fridman says it will be a “multi-hour conversation”.
To give you an idea of what to expect, Lex has conducted nearly 500 videos and they range from around 2-4 hours long. Previous episodes with other video game visionaries such as Todd Howard, John Carmack and Tim Sweeney clock in at nearly 3 hours to 5 hours.
Another part of Lex’s post is an open call for questions to Dan Houser. He asks fans of Houser’s work to suggest questions on anything they want to know from someone who has shared so little publicly.
“I would love to explore and celebrate his work and his mind as best as I can. If there are questions or topic suggestions you can help me with, please do. They can be super specific, technical, funny lore, future game dev, philosophical, etc.”

This podcast announcement comes after it was revealed earlier this month Houser would make his first on-camera interview. This will take place on Saturday 27th September. Learn more details on that interview here. Houser will release his first book as part of his new multimedia studio in November.
