Reports from a credible leaker within the Grand Theft Auto community reveals that an upcoming Grand Theft Auto: Online update will let players create their own music.
Tez2 also known as FunMw2 has recently published an article on WhatifGaming revealing that players in GTA Online will soon be able to create their own music. Could this be the next big DLC after us being treated with Dr. Dre last year.
Rockstar Games have had experience in the past with allowing fans to create their own tunes, back in 2009 Rockstar Games released a game on the PlayStation Portable (PSP) called Beaterator in collaboration with Timbaland, so being able to bring this into GTA Online isn’t such a bad idea.
Back in October 2020, Take-Two Interactive also registered a domain called Rapponator.com, with Tez saying in 2021 it could be a new music mixer from Rockstar Games in collaboration with Dr.Dre.
Tez also claimed that this idea has been stewing within Rockstar Games for a while now, which isn’t surprising with how heavily focused R* have been on the music industry within the last few years, from new radio stations in GTA Online, Nightclub Update, The Contract update featuring huge artists such as Dr.Dre, DJ Pooh, Rosalia, Eminem and others being featured one way or another in the update, along with that, Rockstar Games also have their own label now called CircoLoco Records in collaboration with CircoLoco Ibiza.
The source also claimed we could see this future update also be partly focused on single player protagonist Michael De Santa.
If this comes out to be true, its another step to show on how committed Rockstar Games is to the Music Industry.
