During Take-Two Interactive’s Q2 2024 quarterly earnings presentation, CEO Strauss Zelnick discussed the success of Rockstar Games’ titles over the past three months. From GTA V to Red Dead 2, we go over all of his statements in this article.
Grand Theft Auto V goes big for Take-Two

Take-Two Interactive revealed that Grand Theft Auto V sold over 190 million copies, up from the over 185m in August. Grand Theft Auto V normally sells an average of 5 million every month. The total sales of the Grand Theft Auto series is now at over 410 million copies worldwide, up 5 million from 3 months ago.
They also say there was “better-than-expected results from Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online.” They do expect growth for GTA Online, GTA+ and Shark Cards to be flat going forward. Likely due to GTA 6 being revealed.
CEO Strauss Zelnick said in the earnings call that GTA V and GTA Online is an “outstanding achievement” as it surpassed expectations this quarter. It had continued momentum from the San Andreas Mercenaries drip-feed. It had sustained engagement due to this drip-feed selection of content.

GTA+ growth has also surpassed expectations according to the publisher.
As for GTA 6, Take-Two reiterate that “Active development for the next entry in the Grand Theft Auto series is well underway”. Strauss says GTA 6 is “completely protected” from any SAG-AFTRA strike for voice/performance actors.
Red Dead Redemption 2 hits 57m copies sold

Red Dead Redemption 2 sold an extra two million copies in the last 3 months. This means Red Dead Redemption 2 has now sold over 57 million copies worldwide, up from 55m last time round. In total the Red Dead Series has now sold over 81 Million copies, up from 79m last time. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick say they are “very pleased” with Red Dead 2.
GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition mobile version continues to be in limbo, again

Another quarter has passed and no more information on the mobile version of the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition. Take-Two’s investor reports state the release is “TBA”, to be announced.
