Rockstar removes GTA Online and Red Dead Online benefits for Amazon Prime members

Rockstar Games and Prime Gaming have ended their benefits program for GTA Online and Red Dead Online. Every month since since 2019, players that linked their Rockstar Social Club and Prime Gaming accounts have received cash and other rewards. This was part of Amazon’s gaming perk scheme for lots of games. If you have an Amazon Prime membership, you can get games for free or perks for others. Unfortunately this way of earning free money each month has come to an end but Rockstar have shared one last bonus with players which we will get into.

This news was revealed on March 31st in a new Rockstar Support page titled “End of Prime Gaming benefits for Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online“. The article goes onto say:

Question: I have a Prime-subscribed Amazon account that’s linked to my Rockstar Games Social Club account, so why am I not receiving Prime Gaming benefits for Grand Theft Auto Online or Red Dead Online?

Answer: Prime Gaming benefits are no longer supported as of March 31, 2023, for Grand Theft Auto Online and April 3, 2023, for Red Dead Online.

    Final Prime Gaming bonuses revealed

The Rockstar Support page notes that “Prime Gaming players who played Grand Theft Auto Online between March 30, 2023, and March 31, 2023, will receive a one-time award of GTA$125,000.” This only has given players a small window of opportunity to grab the last bit of free money included in their membership. As for Red Dead Online, Rockstar state any players who played Red Online Dead Online before April 4, 2023, will receive:

    • (5) Gold Bars
    • The Howl Emote
    • A Select Colorway of the Buckley Hat
    • A Select Colorway of the Rivera Hooded Tunic

(Yes, Red Online Dead Online is a real typo made by Rockstar).

It is a shame to see an end to Prime Gaming’s benefits for both GTA Online and Red Dead Online. A lot of people are subscribed to Amazon Prime so this was a nice extra perk each month, especially for new players. It’s not surprising this has ended though. It has been part of the Prime Gaming benefits for a few years now and Rockstar created their own GTA+ subscription service.

What do you think to this, will you miss GTA Online and Red Dead Online’s Prime Gaming monthly benefits? Let us know down in the comments. Be sure to stay tuned to RockstarINTEL so you don’t miss any GTA Online or Red Dead Online news updates.

I think it’s wrong Rockstar gives us benefits and takes it away like we did something wrong it sucks. I’m pretty sure all Amazon Prime users feel the same way. Does this mean I lost any benefits by not getting on Red DEAD Redemption?

So if you’re on old gen you lose prime benefits and GTA+ doesn’t work. So old gen players just got left behind totally.
