Rockstar Games is now hiring for their big User Generated Content (UGC) plans outside of their traditional studio bases. The Creator Platform team, which is now also responsible for FiveM, has been ever-expanding ahead of GTA 6’s launch.
How Rockstar will use tech and ideas built for FiveM for the next game remains to be seen. However, one thing is clear from new job listings: they are doubling down on User Generated Content. A reader of ours ewffew, let us know about a few new job listings. Let’s take a look at them and what they say.
Creator Platform Details
Under the requirements for the Strategy Research Associate role, they want someone who has a “deep understanding of the landscape of Creator Platforms (Roblox, Fortnite, YouTube, Twitch, TikTok, etc.).” We’re in a world now where so much content is consumed on platforms like TikTok in short form styles. Plus, Roblox and Fortnite have strong creation tools. Games made by fans within those titles have more players than many other AAA multiplayer games. Some in Roblox are bigger than GTA for example.
Rockstar also hope this person already has “familiarity with the GTA Roleplay ecosystem” and has worked on UGC tools, marketplaces and live-service games. Whoever fills this role will be responsible for being an expert on a company-wide level for the Creator Platform and GTA Roleplay.
- Rockstar’s Creator Platform team builds and operates technology platforms that enable creators to develop their own game modes, experiences, and modifications for players to experience community-created content on fully customized servers.
- We develop tools and services that empower creators to build, publish, operate, grow, and monetize their experiences.
- We work at the intersection of games, creator ecosystems, platform infrastructure and community.
As for the Senior Manager, Product position, Rockstar Games say they want someone to “help shape the future of Rockstar’s Creator Platform ecosystem. This role focuses on building sustainable systems that empower creators to build experiences, attract players, and operate thriving communities.”
Additionally, they would like the candidate to have been part of building developer or creator platforms in the past. This includes tools, APIs, SDKs or systems. How much of this will make its way into GTA Online for GTA 6 remains to be seen.
Locational Developments

The two positions mentioned above are in-office at Rockstar’s NYC headquarters where the major decisions are made. This is a little out of the ordinary as most of the FiveM staff were based out of studios in the UK. That said, positions in the Creator Platform team are still available at Rockstar London and Leeds. Those job listings also are more focused on FiveM and RedM with far more mentions of those platforms.
A role within the Creator Platform team but based in the Bangalore was opened last week but has since closed. It is interesting to see the Creator Platform team begin having staffers across the world.
Earlier this week, journalist and long-time Rockstar Games friend HipHopGamer claimed to know details about GTA 6’s UGC. The User Generated Content side of the next GTA Online iteration is said to be “worth the wait”. It is worth pointing out that back in January the Creator Platform team launched the Cfx Marketplace, an official Rockstar Games mods store.
