Rockstar Games have released a second background update for GTA Online following the big recent patch. This was in response to a variety of issues that came as part of the GTA Online Agents of Sabotage.
Background patches that fix issues without the need of downloading an update is a regular occurrence after a new GTA Online update. The first background update tends to happen at least once within days of a new DLC which they did last week. It fixed a few issues but less than the new one. Today’s coincided with the Christmas Event Week(s) that featured 3 new vehicles including 2 police cars from the Agents of Sabotage dripfeed content.
Patch Notes
Today’s background update information comes from reliable community insider Tez2 who has shared patch notes of the background update. Below are all of the known changes:
- Patches the workaround for the Agency God Mode glitch.
- Fixes an issue with the vehicle engine animation during the FIB Files.
- Fixes an issue where players would receive DJ requests within interiors.
- Fixes an issue where players get stuck customizing their Terrorbyte inside the Darnell Bros Garment Factory while playing as a member of another Organization or Motorcycle Club.
- Fixes an issue where completing another player’s Priority File as a member of their Organization/Motorcycle Club marks yours as complete.
- Fixes an issue where the Darnell Inc. app fails to display the CEO/MC limit message.
- Fixes an issue with the drop-off locations for the Fine Art File: EMP Charges and Brute Force File: Private Military Armor Preps.
Whilst Rockstar Games release extensive patch notes for all downloadable updates, as we report here, background updates are not communicated publicly to the wider GTA Online community. Thanks to Tez we can see what improvements have been made into the game following bugs introduced by this winter’s DLC update.

I tried several times & couldn’t finish the new missions/heists because of bugs. Not being able to re enter my knitting factory or other buildings. Black screens. Countless other issues I can’t even remember that made me uninstall. Too late R*
