Rockstar Games have released a fairly rare improvement-heavy update to their launcher. The Rockstar Games Launcher is not everyone’s best friend but the new update published late on Tuesday should hopefully reduce friction between players and the application.
This update comes a few months after a couple new features were added in the past few months. Those updates included the ability to choose which launcher to launch Rockstar titles from within the RGL. Discord Rich Presence and quicker access to settings and more.
Patch Notes
As spotted by community member Tex2 (yes, he has renamed from Tez2), the patch notes for Rockstar Games Launcher Update 1.0.105.2705 was posted to the Rockstar Support website. You can read the full patch notes below:
- Improvements have been made to support handheld gaming Windows PCs
- Epic Online Services SDK has been updated to a more recent version
- Support has been added for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch Pro controllers
- A new command-line argument for silent mode installation (/f) has been added to the Rockstar Games Launcher installer
- Improvements have been made to the stability of the Rockstar Games Launcher

As you can read above, the Rockstar Games Launcher is now better equipped to be used on handheld gaming Windows PCs such as the ASUS ROG Ally X or Lenovo Legion Go. On top of that, full support for an expanded list of controllers has finally come. Those using a Dualshock 4, DualSense or Nintendo Switch Pro controllers will now have a more pleasant experience.
This update will be downloaded when you next boot the launcher up. It’s good to see Rockstar improving their launcher after plenty of players are not keen on it. Rockstar are making it clear the Rockstar Games Launcher is here to stay especially ahead of GTA VI’s release (it will come to PC at some point).
Let us know down in the comments if any of the improvements made to the Rockstar Games Launcher are useful to you. For more GTA 6 news updates or anything else relating to Rockstar Games, stay tuned to RockstarINTEL.
