Rockstar Games have started the pre-load rollout for the PC version of Red Dead Redemption ahead of its release. Plus, a new graphics driver from NVIDIA has been released to make sure the game works best at launch.
Whilst pre-loading is somewhat limited right now, it is certainly starting to feel real for fans who have waited over 14 years to play the iconic western at a high frame rate with enhanced visuals. Red Dead fans can finally stop dreaming and start living Red Dead Redemption on PC.
Download size and platforms
First spotted by GTA forums user Cordohen, the download size of the game via the Rockstar Games Launcher is 9GB. This similar to the PS4/PS5 version that released last year and is the expected size. The Rockstar Game Launcher also had an update that users will have to download upon launching it next.

At the time of writing, only the version of Red Dead Redemption PC for Rockstar’s own launcher could be be pre-loaded if it has been pre-ordered. Since then, the Steam version has gone up. So if you’re on Valve’s platform, you’re in luck too. It comes in at around 8.3GB. Epic Games Store has not just yet.
Launch time
As we’ve known for a few weeks, Red Dead Redemption comes to PC on October 29th. Rockstar has not publicly announced a time but Rockstar insider Tez2 has shared the time with us fans. According to code in the backend of the Rockstar Games Launcher and Epic Games Store, the game will release at 10am EDT / 2pm GMT.
NVIDIA driver
