Earlier today, Rockstar Games dropped the latest bombshell in regards to when the next Red Dead game will be released. Previously, Rockstar Games had stated that Red Dead Redemption II would be coming out sometime during the Spring of 2018. It has now been confirmed that the game is delayed until the fall. This time, however, a release date has been announced. This latest delay is the shortest that the game has experienced. Pending possible further delays, it will be releasing on October 26th, 2018. This is the second time that Red Dead Redemption 2 has faced a delay since being announced in October of 2016. At the time, its initial release window was set as the second half of 2017.
The delay
As a company, Rockstar Games has been fairly elusive. To date they have released little information about the forthcoming instalment in the Red Dead series. They have released only two trailers and a handful of other posts regarding the game. This, combined with Spring fast approaching, had led players to speculate that the announcement of a delay was on the horizon.
WHILE WE HAD HOPED TO HAVE THE GAME OUT SOONER, WE REQUIRE A LITTLE EXTRA TIME FOR POLISH.
During their announcement, Rockstar Games apologized for the additional delay, citing the need for further “polishing.” In the release, they also showcased seven new screenshots detailing how beautiful the in-game world of Red Dead Redemption II will be. Rockstar closed off the release thanking players for their continued patience, despite the delays. This was Rockstar’s second newswire post in three days.
