No, GTA 6 Is Not Being Shown At Gamescom

Rockstar Games are not at Gamescom 2025 to show off more of GTA 6 or another project such as the rumoured current gen ports of Red Dead Redemption 2 and GTA IV.

Social media has been set ablaze following some social accounts posting Rockstar Games’ booth at Gamescom with straight up baseless speculation and vague teases. This has led to fans creating many kinds of speculation themselves. We’re here to debunk the misleading social media posts.

The biggest gaming event in the world takes place in Cologne, Germany every August and this week is the week for it. The Opening Night Live event was broadcast on Tuesday offering lots of new game reveals, details, updates and more. The live event ended without Rockstar appearing.

Whilst the company are at the event on the show floor, it is not to reveal new game or something alike. As seen in photos from various attendees of Gamescom, a large black booth features the Rockstar Games, 2K and Take-Two Interactive logos.

This booth is closed off to the public. Staff from those companies will be inside, potentially only Take-Two will be inside. Afterall, Take-Two are at the event with games such as Borderlands 4.

This Is Normal

This is not the first time Rockstar have attended Gamescom. They have been going to the event for over a decade. As someone who has been a press member at Gamescom a few times in the past, I’ve seen this booth in person. Take-Two staff take meetings inside the booth. Rockstar does not make announcements at Gamescom.

Rockstar’s TwitchCon 2019 Booth

Unfortunately, some accounts on social media are using this booth as a way to spread false hope. The same thing happened last year with TwitchCon. The company was revealed to be at the event by streamer Kai Cenat. They also previously had a booth there in 2019 where no new announcements were made.

Ah, the sweet sound of debunking! Thanks for sparing us the wild goose chase, RockstarINTEL. Guess well just have to keep our excitement in check and not get teached by those sneaky social media teases. Heres to hoping Rockstar drops a bombshell… someday! 🙄🎮 #FalseHopeNoMore
