Rockstar Games have released new updates for the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. Each game has a new patch to download on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
We opened the Rockstar Games Launcher and received updates for all three games. The download sizes are 18.53GB for GTA San Andreas, 8.96GB for GTA Vice City and 4.23GB for GTA III.
On the Xbox and PlayStation side, each game’s update is around 400-500mb. The PC version has to basically download the full game again like previous updates.
Patch Notes
Rockstar Support have posted the patch notes for this update onto their website. The post states this version of the game is 1.04.5.
- Stability improvements across all three titles on all platforms
Yep, that’s all that is included in the patch notes this time…
Goodbye Grove Street?
According to community member @billsyliamgta, the codebase for the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition has changed suggesting Grove Street Games are no longer working on the game. This means a team inside Rockstar Games are handling the project’s future when it comes to updates and bug fixes.
In the previous updates, Rockstar did include several changes plus some hidden ones as we noted here. For example, they added more detail and resolution to CJ’s jeans. Billboards were updated, walls blocking players leaving maps and more were also part of a previous update. There is still a lot more things that need sorting out with these remasters and we can only hope Rockstar can sort it out.
The mobile version of the GTA Trilogy DE had been delayed to this fiscal year and we still don’t have any word on it. It is currently set to release before March 31st 2023.
Stay tuned to RockstarINTEL for them and all news updates on the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.

So, 2 new undesirable/unnecessary features? Great
And one worthless undesirable comment to go with it! Im sitting here laughing my Arsov over it!
They basically remade the game engine… That probably took them a long time and the upscaled clothes were just things they had their artists work on to keep them busy. This update alone might not make the game worth playing but it lays the groundwork for more improvements.
The game is what it is. Just focus on GTA VI now.
I think this team just giving up lol
