Rockstar Games‘ FiveM tools suite has just received a major addition. The team who developer the modding platform, Cfx.re, have unveiled and released an asset conversion application for GTA V and FiveM.
Announced as the “New Official Modding Utility” all the way back in March this year, only now have Cfx.re broken the several month radio silence. This tool allows developers to convert assets made for the old GTA V Legacy version of FiveM to GTA V Enhanced.
In a blog post on Thursday, Cfx.re revealed “Alchemist“, the conversion tool for FiveM creators. The team say they are “excited to launch the first in a series of updates coming to GTAV Enhanced support within FiveM.” This all starts with Alchemist.
What Alchemist Does
According to the blog post, Alchemist lets FiveM creators update their GTAV Legacy assets to be compatible with FiveM for GTAV Enhanced. The Asset Conversion feature of this application automatically and effortlessly converts the chosen folder and contents.
Upon conversion, all GTA V Legacy assets will be converted to the GTAV Enhanced format inside your chosen target directory. Surrounding files such as scripts, interfaces and configuration files will be copied without being changed.
The tool also contains a “Refinement” feature. Artists can “update and correct Legacy assets for proper formatting and compatibility”. Asset conversion will automatically correct your Legacy assets while converting them to Enhanced.

The blog post ends with the team dropping a little tease. They say “Stay tuned over the coming months as we share more about FiveM for GTAV Enhanced.”
